Convincing victory for former world number one in Quebec City

Lindsay Davenport continued her impressive return to tennis with a 6-1 6-0 thrashing of Aleksandra Wozniak at the Bell Challenge. The three-time Grand Slam champion, back in action after opting to come out of retirement following the birth of her first child, stormed to victory to set up a third-round clash with Sofia Arvidsson. Davenport began her comeback by winning the Bali tournament in September and has produced a string of solid performances. Olga Poutchkova, the eighth seed, joined the American in the quarter-finals with a 6-2 6-3 defeat of Jill Craybas. Last year's runner-up will face fellow Russian Vera Zvonereva in the last eight.
