Alex Bogdanovic is one of four British players to be awarded a wildcard for The Artois Championships at Queen's Club, which starts on June 9th. The British number three, who turns 24 today, came within two points of beating eventual champion Andy Roddick in the third round of last year's event. Bogdanovic then looked poised to crack the top 100 but a disappointing 12 months since have seen him slip to world number 243. Fellow Briton Josh Goodall has also been awarded a wildcard, along with former Wimbledon semi-finalists Xavier Malisse and Jonas Bjorkman. The field also includes world number two Rafael Nadal, Australian Open champion Novak Djokovic, Roddick, four-time winner Lleyton Hewitt and British number one Andy Murray.
