Defending champion happy with Wimbledon warm-up

Roger Federer claimed his fifth Gerry Weber Open title in Halle with a straight sets victory over Philipp Kohlschreiber on Sunday. Federer, who will begin his bid for a sixth Wimbledon crown later this month, dismissed the German 6-3 6-4 at his traditional grass-court warm-up for SW19 taking his unbeaten run on the surface to 59 matches. The Swiss ace, who has won the tournament in Germany every year since 2003 except last year when he did not compete, was rarely troubled by his opponent. And Sunday's victory will come as welcome relief for the world number one following last week's French Open final humiliation at the hands of Spaniard Rafael Nadal. "I played great tennis all week," Federer told German television. "I didn't lose my serve once, which I don't think I've ever managed before in a tournament, so it's very special for me, and I'm really pleased about it."
