Marion Bartoli has reached the last eight of the £300,000 International Women's Open at Eastbourne after she thrashed Austria's Sybille Bammer 6-3 6-0 in just 59 minutes. Victory for the French second seed ends a four-match losing streak which saw her crash out in the first round of the Australian Open in January and lose at Roland Garros last month. She also lost her opening match at Birmingham last week when a wrist injury left her almost powerless. Her poor run of form has seen Bartoli's world ranking slip to number 11 - the seeding she has been given for the All England Championships which start next week. She said: "I've had almost every problem this year - my knee, my back, my Achilles and my wrist. It has been really frustrating because I am so competitive that I want to win every match." Bartoli, who lost to Venus Williams in last year's Wimbledon final appears to be back on form following her win on Wednesday. She said: "Last year was fantastic for me at Wimbledon and I don't know what it is, but maybe it's the thought of going back again next week that has inspired me. I played really great today." Meanwhile, Russian top seed and world number five Svetlana Kuznetsova suffered a surprising defeat, losing to Danish teenager Caroline Wozniacki 6-2 6-2.
