Wozniacki awaits in Saturday's final

Anna Chakvetadze overcame her first true test at the Pilot Pen tournament as the top seed got the better of two-time Grand Slam champion Amelie Mauresmo 6-3 3-6 6-1 in Friday's semi-final clash. Chakvetadze will now face Caroline Wozniacki, who defeated seventh seed Alize Cornet of France 7-5 6-4, in Saturday's final. World number 11 Chakvetadze converted five of eight break opportunities to see off Mauresmo in an encounter lasting one hour 43 minutes. "I lost a little bit of concentration in the beginning of the second set but then I felt I was finding my game again," Chakvetadze said. "It was too late to win the second set - I came back from 1-5 to 3-5 before she won it - but I got off to a good start in the third set and I'm really pleased with how I played that one." Mauresmo, who recently returned from a rib injury, has dropped to 33rd in the rankings and has not won a WTA event since capturing her 24th career title at Antwerp in February 2007. "I guess I ran a out of gas a little bit after last week and the matches I played this week," said Mauresmo. "But it has been a good tournament. I'm pretty satisfied about the way I played throughout the week. "It was a little bit tough to produce a good level of tennis without being good enough physically but I will stay on what I did in the first three matches and just look forward from here."
