Investigation into alleged betting scam closed

Nikolay Davydenko has been cleared of any involvement in an alleged betting scam after a year-long investigation by the ATP. The ATP said it has found no evidence of any wrongdoing on the part of Davydenko or the Argentine player Martin Vassallo Arguello following allegations of irregular betting on their match at Sopot in August 2007. Davydenko pulled out of the match against Vassallo Arguello in the third set citing a foot injury. Bookmakers reported taking large bets on Vassalla Arguello, even after he had lost the opening set.
