Lloyd set to name his team on Friday for tie against Ukraine

Great Britain captain John Lloyd has cancelled the final day of Davis Cup play-offs ahead of next month's tie with Ukraine. The system was set up to discover who would complete the line-up alongside world number four Andy Murray and doubles specialist Ross Hutchins. Having played on Monday and Wednesday, the hopefuls were scheduled to be in action again on Friday. However, Murray was forced to withdraw from the Dubai Tennis Championships with a virus and Lloyd has now opted to end the play-offs early so no to over-exert the others. Chris Eaton and British number three Josh Goodall were the only players from the six taking part who were still unbeaten through two matches. Great Britain's team to play the Europe/Africa Zone Group One tie at Braehead Arena in Glasgow from March 6-8 will be named on Friday. Alex Bogdanovic, the second highest-ranked Brit, will not be considered for selection because of his poor David Cup record.
