World No.87 seen off in straight sets

British teenager Heather Watson enjoyed another notable win with a straight-sets victory over Andrea Hlavackova in the first round of the Cellular South Cup in Memphis. The 18-year-old from Guernsey came through qualifying and continued her fine run of form with a 6-3 7-5 success over the world number 87. A solitary break was enough to claim the first set and two more proved enough for her to edge past the Czech and set up a second-round clash against either fifth seed Olga Govortsova or a qualifier. Watson, 18, advanced to the quarter-finals in Auckland in her opening event of 2011 but failed to reach the main draw at the Australian Open.
