Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova retained her Monterrey Open title after a gutsy three-set win over top seed Jelena Jankovic. Pavlyuchenkova, seeded second for the tournament, came back from a slow start to beat Jankovic 2-6 6-2 6-3. The match turned when the Russian broke the world No.6 in the seventh game of the deciding set - with Pavlyuchenkova going on to clinch her third WTA Tour title. "Last year I said this was very special for me, but this one was also very special, maybe even more," the 19-year-old said. "The crowd made it possible for me last year and they made it possible for me this year too. "They pulled me through each match. It's always tough to defend a title so it means a lot."
