Williams and Djokovic 15/1 to both go through US Open without dropping a set

The impressive nature of Serena Williams and Novak Djokovic's progress at Flushing Meadows has prompted Sky Bet to open betting on the duo winning the US Open without dropping a set. The pair have both cruised through to the quarter-finals of their respective draws with a series of straight-set victories as Williams looks to land a fourth title in New York, while Djokovic is on course for a third Grand Slam title this year. Williams has been cut to 4/11 for the women's title having seen a host of her supposed title rivals slump out and is 6/5 to go the whole two weeks without dropping a single set. Men's favourite Djokovic (4/5) is significantly longer at 6/1 to not have a set taken off him with 16-time Roger Federer likely to be waiting for him in the semis, while second and third favourites Rafael Nadal (4/1) and Andy Murray (9/2) are still going strong on the other side of the draw. The betting experts go 15/1 the pair both winning without dropping a single set with Williams having already done so twice at Flushing Meadows, in 2002 and 2008, while world number one Djokovic is yet to achieve such a feat in a Grand Slam. Sky Bet's Neil Brookes said: "With Serena and Djokovic's prices constantly being cut, we've moved to offer value for punters to back the pair at Flushing Meadows." "While Serena looks in invincible form amid a shortage of tough competition, it looks a far tougher task for Djokovic to go the whole tournament without having a set taken off him, but then again we are talking about a guy who has only lost two matches all season."
