The Davis Cup World Group play-offs draw has been made, pitting Switzerland against Holland in one of the eight ties to be played on 14-16 September. The draw was made up of the eight losing nations from the World Group first round and the eight winning teams from last weekend's Zone Group I second round ties. Great Britain failed in their bid to reach the play-offs following their defeat to Belgium, who will now battle it out with Sweden for a place in next year's World Group. The nations were seeded based on the new Davis Cup rankings, with the eight seeded countries being drawn against the unseeded ones. Despite having Roger Federer in their team, the Swiss were thrashed 5-0 by the USA in this year's first round and they now face a tough test against Holland if they're to remain in the world's elite. Full draw (s = seed, c = choice of surface, * = decided by lot): Kazakhstan (s)(c)(*) v Uzbekistan
Germany (s)(c) v Australia
Israel (s) v Japan (c)(*)
Sweden (s) v Belgium (c)
Canada (s) v South Africa (c)(*)
