Rafael Nadal's shock exit sees Andy Murray's SW19 odds cut

Sky Bet have slashed Andy Murray's odds on winning Wimbledon from 10/1 to 6/1 following the shock exit of second favourite Rafael Nadal. The world number two, who has ousted the British number one for the last two years at SW19, was again placed in the same half of the draw as the Scot with another semi-final meeting seemingly on the cards. However, world 100 ranked Lukas Rosol, who was 1000/1 to lift the trophy pre-tournament, produced one of the biggest shocks in the history of the All England Club event to oust 11-time Grand Slam winner Nadal with a five-set win, an outcome which was priced up at 50/1.

Odds shift

The Czech 26-year-old is now the 18/1 joint-fifth favourite to win Wimbledon after attracting a stream of bets during and after his sensational victory under the closed roof on Centre Court. Nadal's exit has also seen the prices of Novak Djokovic and Roger Federer cut, with the world number one now odds-on at 10/11 (from 6/4) and the world number three 11/4 (from 4/1). Sky Bet's Tennis Trader Ned Brooker said: "I don't think anybody predicted tonight's result, we clearly didn't expect it having offered Rosol at 20/1 to progress and 50/1 to win in a fifth set, with Nadal virtually unbackable at 1/100. "Our punters were certainly impressed by the Czech's display, ploughing into him in the outright betting in-play at some significant prices, although they could have got him at 1000/1 pre-tournaments, luckily for us none did though."
