If Andy Murray steps up the court and attacks Novak Djokovic, he has a 'great shout' of ending his hoodoo against the world No 1, says Peter Fleming.

The Scotsman's last win over Djokovic was in the 2013 Wimbledon final which he won in straight sets to claim just his second major title.

Since then, the pair have met six times and most recently in the semi-finals at last month's Indian Wells, which the Serb went on to win convincingly.

Djokovic has won all six meetings and since that Wimbledon final he has won 13 titles compared to Murray's three.

He has also won two Grand Slam's since, winning at the All England Club the following year, as well as this year's Australian Open, beating his close friend for the third time in the Melbourne final.

But tennis expert Fleming remains convinced that the British No 1 has the tactical nous and patience to finally come out on top against his great rival in the Miami Open final on Sunday, live on Sky Sports 3 at 6pm.

"First thing is first, he has to take care of his first serve," Fleming told Sky Sports. "He has to be a little more aggressive with his second serve and not throw in double faults.

"Secondly, this new style of his of standing in on the second serve, that will be a good tool for him."

Top-seeded Djokovic overcame 18th seed John Isner to move a step closer to retaining his title sending down 10 aces and hitting 25 winners en route to his 90-minute triumph.

He won an impressive 81 per cent of his first serve points and 73 per cent of his second serves against home hope Isner, but Fleming does not believe Djokovic can maintain such a high level in the final.

"I guarantee you he (Djokovic) won't win 73 per cent of his second serves against Murray simply because when he put the ball in play against Isner he was just so dominant from the back of the court.

"Murray will certainly challenge him a lot more in that regard. If Djokovic comes down at all, Murray's in with a great shout."

Mark Petchey says Murray will go into the Miami Open final against Djokovic as the underdog

However, Mark Petchey feels eight-time Grand Slam champion Djokovic will hold the edge over Murray on Sunday and doesn't feel the Serb is ready to relinquish his status as top dog in Miami.

"Novak is the favourite at the moment," he said. "He's playing the best tennis out of everyone - it's really the Djokovic era since 2011.

"He's the form guy on the hard court in particular. The way that he's moving and the confidence that he has and the fact that he has a Slam under his belt takes a lot of the pressure off.

"This is already a great season for Novak from that perspective. He comes in there feeling pretty relaxed, feeling confident about how he is playing.

"He's played some tough matches and he has a good record over Andy recently so he will be feeling pretty confident about lifting a fifth Miami title.

"When you get two guys that have won Grand Slams and won Masters titles, are of an equal talent level, you always expect it to be a little bit special."
