Former Everton midfielder Tim Cahill has extended his stay in China by completing a move to Hangzhou Greentown.
The 36-year-old, who had his contract with Shanghai Greenland Shenhua terminated last week, has signed a short-term deal with the Chinese Super League club.
"I'm very happy to be back playing football. I have signed a contract for five months. The future now is clear," Cahill said via his official Instagram account.
"It's been a difficult and challenging week however I'm very happy with the way this has all worked out."
Hangzhou Greentown also confirmed the move on their official website, stating: "We expect Cahill, a main (foreign) player of the club for the new season, to perform well in Chinese Super League (CSL) games."
Last week, Cahill accused new arrivals to the Chinese Super League of being motivated by greed rather than football and said his contract with Shenhua had been cancelled as he was not part of manager Gregorio Manzano's plans for the new season.
The Chinese transfer record has been broken four times so far in the current transfer window, with Jiangsu Suning paying out a record £38m to sign Alex Teixeira from Shakhtar Donetsk.
Jackson Martinez, Ramires and Ezequiel Lavezzi have also completed big-money moves to the Chinese Super League.
