All the latest Man Utd transfer news and rumours from across the British and European press on Thursday, July 13.

Manchester United's hunt for a new midfielder is featured throughout the media on Thursday.

Sky sources understand Eric Dier is one of their targets, but Tottenham don't want to sell, have not received any bids for the player and we understand any clubs trying to sign him are wasting their time.

Mauricio Pochettino has said he will only sell players he is happy to let go and Dier, who has four years left on his current deal, does not fall into that category.

We also understand Nemanja Matic is a target, but Chelsea are reluctant to do business after losing out in the race to sign Romelu Lukaku.

According to the Daily Mail, that means United will now turn their focus to signing Radja Nainggolan for £40m from Roma.

The 29-year-old Belgium international has also had interest from Chelsea and Inter Milan, according to the newspaper.

Jose Mourinho is willing to offer Ander Herrera a £175,000-a-week deal to ward off interest from Barcelona and Atletico Madrid.

The Daily Star also reports that Real Madrid have given up on their attempts to sign goalkeeper David De Gea this summer.

The tabloid claims the Spanish club will now turn their attention to Athletic Bilbao's Kepa Arrizabalaga.

A report in Spanish outlet Don Balon has suggested Mourinho was refusing to sanction the sale of his goalkeeper after the breakdown of their move for Real forward Alvaro Morata.

Meanwhile, Sky sources understand Ivan Perisic wants to join United and his agent met with Inter Milan for talks on Wednesday.

Sky Sports News HQ understands United are getting closer to a deal for Perisic, but Inter are sticking to their £48m asking price for the Croatia international and there is no agreement between the clubs yet.

According to L'Equipe, United want to sign right-back Serge Aurier from Paris Saint-German after the French club landed Dani Alves from Juventus.

The French newspaper claims the player has told PSG boss Unai Emery he wants to leave this summer and Mourinho wants competition for Antonio Valencia and Matteo Darmian.

However, Mourinho has already decided on his first choice left-back for next season, according to a report in the Manchester Evening News.

They claim the United boss has backed Luke Shaw for that role next season after taking him on the club's pre-season USA tour, even though he is unlikely to be fit for the start of the season.
