Sheffield United have signed defender James Wilson from Oldham on a two-year deal.
Wilson, 27, was a free agent this summer following the expiry of his contract at Oldham and has opted to join Sky Bet League One rivals United.
"James is an athletic, mobile centre-half and knows this division," Blades boss Chris Wilder told the club's official website.
"He turned down a contract at Oldham and had other options but we've had him with us for a few days, had a good look at him and he will be a good addition to our squad."
Wilson is Wilder's third summer signing following the arrivals of winger Mark Duffy and defender Chris Hussey last month.
Wales international Wilson progressed through Bristol City's academy and had loan spells at Brentford and Cheltenham before sealing a permanent move to Oldham in January 2014. He made over 100 appearances in all competitions for the Latics.
