Former Inter Milan winger Ezequiel Schelotto claims he is talks about a move to Leicester.
Schelotto believes he can follow in former Foxes midfielder, and fellow Argentine, Esteban Cambiasso's footsteps at the King Power Stadium.
Camibasso played a key part in helping Leicester avoid relegation last season after joining on a short-term deal from Inter Milan.
The 34-year-old was voted player of the year by the club's fans, but said farewell in the summer after rejecting the offer of a new deal.
Schelotto, who was born in Argentina but has been capped by Italy, is currently a free agent after leaving Inter following the termination of his contract with them in August.
Leicester's Italian boss Claudio Ranieri recently played down talk of the Foxes signing the 26-year-old, calling it "speculation".
However, on Wednesday Schelotto told Italian sports newspaper La Gazzetta dello Sport:
"I'd like to play there and I'm ready to get back into action.
"I don't know what stage the negotiations are at with Leicester, but if Cambiasso can do well there, then I'm sure I can too.
"I would never have imagined I'd find myself without a club at the age of 26. Now I'm waiting for a gift - a new club."
