Kevin De Bruyne: No offer from Manchester City say Wolfsburg

Wolfsburg have moved to play down rumours linking Kevin De Bruyne with a move to Manchester City.

The Belgian midfielder has sparked interest from a number of clubs across Europe after impressing in his first season back in German football.

De Bruyne was instrumental in Wolfsburg's second place finish last season and was named as the best player in the Bundesliga.

The 23-year-old, who struggled to break into Chelsea’s first team under Jose Mourinho, has previously said he has had "informal contact" with City, but Wolfsburg’s Managing Director, Klaus Allofs, denied any offer had been made.

"We know all those rumors but we haven't received an offer for Kevin," he said.

"Nobody contacted us. And also Kevin hasn’t come to us or asked if we would agree to let him go. So if you would ask me today, if Kevin will stay in Wolfsburg, my answer would be yes – 99.9 percent."
