Fleetwood have confirmed the loan extension of Stoke defender Dionatan Teixeira.

The Brazilian-born Slovakian joined The Cod Army at the start of the month and has now extended his stay until January 2.

The 23-year-old signed for Stoke on a three-year contract last season and will now look to help Fleetwood climb up the Sky Bet League One table as the club currently sit 20th.

Teixeira said: "It's good for me because every player needs to play. I'm really happy. We picked up a good three points at Barnsley on Saturday, and it's important we try and improve every game.
