Cambridge have signed Middlesbrough defender Bradley Halliday and he moves to the Cambs Glass Stadium on a permanent deal for an undisclosed fee.
The 21-year-old former York and Hartlepool loanee, spent last season on loan at Accrington where he helped them record a fourth-place finish in League Two before they eventually lost to Wimbledon in the play-offs.
Halliday began his football career within the Middlesbrough academy and spent a spell with Newcastle during his youth career before he returned to the Riverside Stadium to sign his first professional contract in August 2013.
The right-back was delighted with the move from the Premier League club and told the club's official website: "I'm delighted to be able to move to Cambridge United and I see this as a club where I can really start my career.
"It's a great city and a beautiful location, so I'm really happy to have signed.
"I feel I'm a modern day full-back who likes to get forward, works hard up and down the pitch, as well as enjoying defending. My aim is to help improve the team and developing my own game.
"I've managed to build up my experience with just under 70 games whilst on loan in League Two. I had a good season at York, and then followed it up with more games at Hartlepool."
