Wigan have signed midfielder Josh Laurent from Sky Bet League Two side Hartlepool for an undisclosed fee.

The 21-year-old, who has played 33 times for Pools, has signed a two-and-a-half-year deal with Latics.

Wigan boss Warren Joyce told the club's official website: "Josh is a player the club has been watching all season and we feel he has the potential to shine at a higher level of football, given the right environment and the time in which to develop.
