Crewe have agreed a deal to sign Michael Raynes after the defender turned down the offer of a new contract at Carlisle.

The 29-year-old will join the Alex on a two-year deal, with the option of another year, and will officially become a Crewe player on July 1.

Raynes, who has also represented Stockport, Scunthorpe, Rotherham, Oxford and Mansfield, is the second new player to move to Gresty Road this week after striker Jordan Bowery.
