Kilmarnock have signed teenage defender Daniel Higgins on a two-year contract.

The 19-year-old was formerly on the books of Celtic, before moving to Dundee on a free transfer in January of this year.

While at Dens Park he made four first-team appearances - two of these as a sub - and boss Lee McCulloch is delighted he has moved to Rugby Park.

McCulloch told the Killie website: "Daniel fits in with the club philosophy, bringing young players into a first team environment.

"He came through Celtic's academy, which has seen many impressive young players come through.

"For the second half of last season he gained experience at Dundee and through time will only get better, which is only a good thing for this club."
