Huddersfield boss Jan Siewert admits that he has already identified players he would like to sign in the summer transfer window.
The Terriers have been relegated to the Sky Bet Championship for next season and face Watford, Liverpool, Manchester United and Southampton in their final four Premier League fixtures.
Siewert, who succeeded David Wagner in January, says that their remaining top-flight matches are an opportunity to learn more about his team as he prepares to build a squad that can challenge for promotion next term.
"Everyone is focusing on what we can do and we have to look at players for next season," he said on Thursday. "I have looked at players I would like to bring in.
"I have made decisions on some players and I am still learning. We still have games to go. In every game you can impress a manager, so for me I am still looking. This is important.
"At the moment I am working with our head of recruitment and I am focusing on each possibility and our timescale."
Siewert was asked to explain why midfielder Aaron Mooy was left on the bench for the defeat to Tottenham last time out and confirmed that the club "do not know who will be here next season" amid transfer interest from other clubs.
"Aaron Mooy is a great guy and fantastic player," he added. "We know Tottenham could hurt us so I made a tactical decision and changed shape. I decided for this game to look at other players.
"We don't know who will be here next season and what the team will look like. This is normal and we have to go through the process."
Siewert is expecting a tough match against FA Cup finalists Watford at the John Smith's Stadium on Saturday.
"What Watford do well is to crowd the centre - they try to overload the centre," he said. "They are a threat from a distance and we will have to take care and work against this. We have to show our idea against them as well.
"I looked at Watford and know we have possibilities against them. I will go for it."
