Gareth Taylor has agreed a new one-year deal to remain in his role as Manchester City Women head coach.
Taylor's contract was due to expire at the end of the season, but, after positive talks with City's new director of women's football Nils Nielsen, he is set to extend his stay although he is yet to sign.
Defeat against Manchester United on Sunday left City fourth in the WSL - 11 points behind leaders Chelsea - with just one match still to play.

City's final game of the season is at home to Everton on Saturday, with Taylor's side set to remain fourth unless they beat the Toffees, Arsenal lose at home to Aston Villa and an 11-goal swing in goal difference takes place.
Fourth would be the lowest City have finished in the WSL since they came fifth in 2014.
Taylor was appointed in the summer of 2020 after leaving his role as head coach of City men's U18s side.
He led City to victory in the FA Cup final - which had been delayed from the previous season due to Covid - just months after taking charge and also lifted the League Cup last season.
