Manchester City defender Karim Rekik joins PSV on loan

Manchester City defender Karim Rekik has signed a season-long loan deal with PSV Eindhoven.

Rekik spent last season on loan at the Eredivisie club making 31 appearances, scoring one goal.

The 19-year old earned a place in Louis Van Gaal’s preliminary 30-man Holland squad before this summer’s World Cup after an impressive debut season in his homeland.

This will be the defender’s fourth loan spell following spells at Blackburn Rovers and Portsmouth since signing for City from Feyenoord in 2011.

Rekik has made three senior appearances for City after captaining the Elite Development Squad and he featured extensively in pre-season for Manuel Pellegrini’s side in Scotland the United States.
