A number of clubs across Europe are keeping tabs on former Manchester City youngster Ahmad Benali, Sky Sports understands.

Benali, who came through the ranks at City, is currently at Serie B side Brescia after leaving City for Italy in the summer of 2012.

The 22-year-old has established himself as a key player for Brescia and has he enjoyed a fine start to the season, scoring three goals in his last four games for the Italian side.

Benali's form has not gone unnoticed with a number of Serie A clubs, including Inter Milan and several English side monitoring his situation at Brescia.

The Manchester-born Libyan international is out of contract next summer and Brescia are bracing themselves for interest in the midfielder.

Benali, who has previously admitted he would like to return to play in England one day, is aware of the growing interest in his services, but is focusing on doing his best for Brescia.

"I am aware of the interest from some Serie A and English clubs in me," Benali told Sky Sports.

"It is flattering of course, but I am just focusing on doing my best for Brescia and I will leave the interest from other clubs with my agent to deal with."
