Transfer news: Birmingham City reject second offer from Bournemouth for Demarai Gray
Thursday 8 January 2015 19:28, UK
Birmingham have rejected a second bid from Bournemouth of £2m for winger Demarai Gray, Sky sources understand.
City turned down a previous £1.5m bid for the 18-year-old, with both attempts believed to be well below the club’s valuation of him.
Gray has come through the ranks at St Andrews and has scored four goals in 20 appearances this season, including a hat-trick in the 6-1 victory over Reading on December 13.
Bournemouth striker Matt Tubbs has joined Portsmouth on a free transfer during the January window and Jayden Stockley has been loaned out to Luton.
That leaves space in the squad for a forward as Cherries manager Eddie Howe looks to boost their options as they push for promotion to the Premier League.
