Liverpool have recalled winger Jordon Ibe from his loan spell with Championship high-flyers Derby County.

The 19-year-old joined the promotion-chasing Rams in August and has played a key role in their excellent first half of the season in the Sky Bet Championship.

He has made 24 appearances and scored five goals for Steve McClaren’s side, who are currently second in the table, behind leaders Bournemouth only on goal difference.

Ibe has made three first-team appearances for Liverpool but he could now add to that tally in Saturday’s Premier League game against Aston Villa at Villa Park.

A statement on Derby’s official website read: “Derby County would like to thank Liverpool for allowing Jordon to spend the last five months at the iPro Stadium.”
