John Cena hurled SummerSlam opponent AJ Styles through a table on Smackdown after defeating Alberto Del Rio.

John Cena and Dolph Ziggler floored their SummerSlam opponents and Randy Orton took Heath Slater to Viperville during a riotous edition of Smackdown Live.

Cena hurled AJ Styles through the announce booth after he had beaten Alberto Del Rio in singles competition, while Ziggler Superkicked WWE Champion Dean Ambrose on Miz TV after the duo had bickered about who would exit Sunday's pay-per-view with Smackdown's top title.

Orton, meanwhile, delivered a strong message to SummerSlam adversary Brock Lesnar by clobbering Slater with two of The Beast's trademark German suplexes as well as an RKO - Slater suffering another beating after being pummelled by Lesnar on Monday Night Raw.

Elsewhere, Bray Wyatt implied that his relationship with Erick Rowan could be over after his long-time follower lost to Ambrose - Wyatt leaving Rowan's sheep mask on his rocking chair as he walked away from the ring.

American Alpha, The Usos and The Hype Bros overcame The Vaudevillains, The Ascension and Breezango in a 12-man match between members of Smackdown's tag-team ranks - Aiden English hit with the pin following a Grand Amplitude from Chad Gable and Jason Jordan.

In the women's division, Becky Lynch and Carmella knocked off Natalya and Alexa Bliss as Naomi and Eva Marie argued at ringside - Natalya forced to tap out to Lynch's Dis-arm-her move.

Lynch, Carmella will team up again at SummerSlam this weekend when, along with Naomi, they battle Natalya, Bliss and Eva Marie in a six-woman tag-team match.

WWE SummerSlam will be shown on Sky Sports Box Office (channel 491) AND Sky Sports HD Box Office (492) at midnight on Sunday, August 21 (Monday morning).

WWE SummerSlam will be repeated on Sky Sports Box Office (channel 491) BUT NOT Sky Sports HD Box Office (492) between 10am on Monday, August 22 and 8pm on Thursday, August 25.

Repeat showings will air at 10am, 3pm, 8pm and 1am, with THE FINAL PLAYOUT starting at 8pm on Thursday, August 25.

The event is priced at £19.95 for UK customers, €24.95 for viewers in the Republic of Ireland.
