'Sometimes great friends make even better enemies...'

WWE star Kevin Owens says his rapport with Chris Jericho is "undeniable" – and will not end now that their friendship has been severed.

Owens attacked Jericho during their Festival of Friendship on the February 13 edition of Raw - the Prizefighter hurling the veteran into an LED screen to shatter a relationship that began last summer.

However, the Universal Champion feels his connection with Jericho means fans can expect fireworks if they go on to settle their rivalry in a WWE ring.

Anyone who has watched WWE over the last seven or eight months could see the chemistry we had - a blind man could see it.

"The one word I would use to describe our chemistry is undeniable," Owens told ESPN's SportsCenter show, ahead of his title defence against Goldberg at Fastlane on Sunday night, live on Sky Sports Box Office.

"Anyone who has watched WWE over the last seven or eight months could see the chemistry we had - a blind man could see it.

"I think we were part of so many memorable moments and that chemistry doesn't just end because I attacked him - sometimes great friends make even better enemies."

Reflecting on the Festival of Friendship segment, which featured an intimate painting of Owens and Jericho, a magician and the return of Gillberg, Owens added: "It was a special night.

"Every chapter that was unveiled built incredibly to a point where I felt it became something very memorable and something people will never forget.

"I stood tall at the end, just like I will stand tall at the end of my match with Goldberg and at the end of my match against whoever I face in the main event at WrestleMania."

Test your knowledge of the Universal Champion

Goldberg, 50, has competed in two bouts since returning to WWE in late 2016, smashing Brock Lesnar in 86 seconds at Survivor Series before a three-and-a-half minute stint in the Royal Rumble.

Owens feels that makes the two-time world champion under-prepared for a clash with him.

"I don't think Goldberg's ready for the kind of main event that I'm going to bring to him," added Owens, who has been Universal Champion since pinning Seth Rollins in August.

How has powerhouse fared in previous bouts?

"Has he ever had a full-length match? Not just since his return but anywhere? Goldberg has always ended things very quickly but the longer the match goes, the more it tips in favour of his opponent.

"I have been through wars for 17 years - I have been through tables, I've landed through chairs, I have gone 40-45 minutes with some of the best in the world and I've beaten them all.

"You've already seen everything Goldberg can do - you've seen a spear, you've seen a jackhammer and that's pretty much where it ends.

"I've been here [on WWE's main roster] for two years and I have only scratched the surface of what I can do. People who have followed my career before I got to WWE will tell you that's a fact.

"I have dreamed of being a champion in WWE and there's nothing I won't do, no length I won't go to, in order to keep it that way."
