Love has regularly been in the air throughout the history of WWE, but some of the wrestling romances are better remembered than others.

Who could forget, for example, the long-running love story between the "Macho Man" Randy Savage and Miss Elizabeth at the end of the 1990s?

A storyline which included no less than two attempts to prise Liz from Macho - one apiece from George "the Animal" Steele and the Honky Tonk Man - one in-ring wedding proposal and then finally a full-blown wedding ceremony at SummerSlam 1991?

John Cena's proposal to Nikki Bella at WrestleMania was a wrestling romance that went the right way!

And more recently there was the actually-really-quite-nice post-match bending of the knee by John Cena to request Nikki Bella's hand in marriage after they had disposed of the nefarious Miz and Maryse at last year's WrestleMania.

The latter two were something of a Raw power couple after that, with Maryse now off-screen as a result of her pregnancy with their first child.
