Verdict

Another tricky handicap to unravel in which we will side with VIOLENT VELOCITY as the most likely winner with both Rising Kheleyf and Silly Gilly posing as the main dangers. The selection was good enough to win off a mark of 60 at Newmarket on rain softened ground last month and will have conditions to suit once again. He ran well at Chester on a faster surface last week but with all the rain that has fallen in the past few days this ought to help his chances to score once again. Rising Kheleyf is only three pound higher for winning at Carlisle last time out and can once again be a live danger. Alan Swinbank has his team of horses in good order at present and they also love a tilt in the ring so any market moves should be noted. Silly Gilly has been a model of consistency this summer. He landed a similar contest at Thirsk in May and has not been discredited in defeat since then so warrants respect. Many in with chances in a wide open looking handicap but Violent Velocity is the percentage call.
