        Verdict

        The drop back to this stiff five furlongs can help get DANCE FOR JULIE off the mark, while Miss Taken looks likely to emerge next best. Patrick Haslam's filly has the benefit of two runs so far over 6f on fast ground. She raced last time as though the stiff Pontefract course may have taken the sting out of her and the trainer's decision to drop back to shorter but continue over an uphill course may well pay dividends on ground that she will act on. Miss Taken finished runner up in another 6f sprint at Pontefract. That was on soft ground but she will be fine on this sound surface and with improvement anticipated Declan Carroll's runner can go close. Tell Me A Story ran well at Ripon first time but Fly Silca Fly did nothing for that form at Newcastle on Saturday and so confidence in her is tempered. Gower Sophia has some rock solid form in context and may well improve for the fitting of headgear but we are happy to side with Dance For Julie.
