Verdict

Emperor's Well can gain another course win at the expense of William John and Scotty's Future, with Time To Regret worth a mention. Emperor's Well returned to winning ways at Ripon ten days ago, making all in the heavy ground to score by six-lengths under Paul Mulrennan. Jackie Coward takes over in this ladies race, and will no doubt have been instructed to kick on early in a bid to secure Mick Easterby's eight-year-old a fourth course success. His main rival appears to be William John, the mount of Lorraine Ellison. However, a win record of one from 23 means he can be taken on, while of the remainder, Scotty's Future is another going for a quartet of victories on this track, and has been ridden into the winner's enclosure by Carol Bartley in the past. Time To Regret will carry local hopes, but this looks set up for Emperor's Well to make all.
