Although SATWA STREET has never before backed up a win, he looks capable of doing so in this moderate handicap, while Northern Empire and Compton Classic look likely to get competitive. The selection came good here when winning over course and distance by over four lengths earlier in the month, after suffering at the hands of the assessor for a resounding Lingfield maiden win last November. The interim saw him get competitive on quite a number of occasions off higher marks than today's, even taking into account his penalty, and with opposition thin on quality here he might just be up to it. Northern Empire has been finishing in the frame in claimers and sellers of late, and while this is a handicap it is probably not a great deal better than some of those races, so he is not dismissed with conditions to suit. Compton Classic looks to have too much weight on his back, but he races over his optimum trip and could get closely involved if handling this quirky track on his first try in 81 starts. Leftontheshelf has been knocking on the door for quite some time but does not appear to have dropped in the weights sufficiently to get us involved financially and we prefer the claims of Satwa Street.
