Verdict

An interesting handicap where GOOSE GREEN is taken to complete a hat-trick, while Arcola should certainly be able to make him work for it. Ron Hodges has placed the selection well enough to win three of his last four starts, two of them coming over course and distance on fast ground. He is up 6lbs for the most recent of those, but he had a fair bit in hand that day and looks like he may be able to find the necessary to defy that rise. Darryll Holland is clearly enjoying his association with the five-year-old and they can notch up another win on ground that also suits. Arcola is another last-time victor, also over course and distance, when trouncing Rosa Of Coma by seven lengths. She is open to improvement and carries a 6lbs penalty for that win, but it did develop into a bit of a sprint and the form might not be trustworthy so we'll take her on. Sceilin is 5lbs higher than when just getting home in front at Bath and that rise may be enough to find her out in this more competitive heat. Astrolibra will act on the ground and races over her optimum trip, and now she is back on a winning mark we should see her get more closely involved. Megalala probably needs a drop in the weights now, and with little else making serious appeal we'll take Goose Green to score.
