In depth

Verdict

Irish raider Bauhaus can plunder this prize. Ormus could go well in receipt of weight with Tickateal and Laureldean Melody others with claims. The selection is sure to be popular given the success of Gordon Elliott's raiders with the booking of McCoy another plus for punters. The topweight was a fair performer over hurdles for Richard Phillips but he posted a much improved effort on debut for his current yard over fences last time. His hurdling mark looks attractive in light of that run and he should go close. Tickateal has been in good form of late and hasn't been too harshly dealt with by the handicapper; he's versatile stays well and looks capable of getting involved. Laureldean Melody has something to prove at this trip but she has plenty of stamina in her pedigree and may conceivably improve for it. She's yet to win a race but does have ability and isn't one to dismiss out of hand. Ormus boasts a similar profile and comes into the race on the back of a decent effort at Market Rasen which suggests he could be on a decent mark. He's bred to relish this trip and is another to be interested in but he may find one too good in the shape of Bauhaus.
