Roger Varian doesn't send too many runners up to Catterick and this looks to be a final chance for SHALEEK having become something of a professional bridesmaid. The daughter of Pivotal has already had plenty of chances to break her duck though she seems to go well under positive tactics and this track might just play to those strengths. Peak Storm has had two runs for John O'Shea having left John Gallagher. The money that has followed him on each occasion has remained in the bookmakers' satchels and Dark Ruler finished seven lengths ahead of him at Hamilton, though is 5lb worse off today. Tahnee Mara was initially campaigned on fast ground but switching to a softer surface and, latterly, Fibresand have made seemingly little difference.
