A number of these are likely to have National Hunt campaigns on the horizon and ROYAL BONSAI, who won a handicap hurdle at Cartmel last month, can take the opportunity to nick one on the Flat. The gelding is still a maiden on the level despite winning a Grade 3 event over hurdles but he was only beaten on a bob of the head at Musselburgh. Ponte Di Rosa may be at her best on a softer surface, though Mick Appleby's mare is respected despite a moderate run on the Polytrack at Kempton. Artisan put up a better effort last time for the application of a tongue-strap and the booking of Amy Ryan looks significant. The leading lady rider has a 20% strike rate this season when riding for Brian Ellison. Miss Ferney won this race in 2011 but Alan Kirtley's mare has been badly out of sorts in her three starts this term.
