In depth

Verdict

This lady amateur riders' handicap can go the way of Tizzy May; Bivouac and Papa's Princess rate as the main dangers. The selection is one of the few in the field who arrive here in good form and he went close in this type of event on Saturday night when he was third behind New Star at Newbury. That was a good effort, and we know he will handle cut in the ground so he looks to hold solid claims. Papa's Princess wasn't disgraced in a claimer last time and she is relatively lightly-raced, but the yard are having a quiet spell and she will need to step-up on her recent form to get competitive here. Bivouac chased home Blue Spinnaker in a lady riders' race here a couple of runs ago, he will handle the ground and he has decent rider on board so a case can certainly be made for him. Of the others, Gifted Flame has been very disappointing of late but he does go well for a lady rider and he may be capable of running into a place. A tricky race to get proceedings underway and the vote is given to Tizzy May.
