Verdict

Big Bad Brian ran poorly on his bumper debut but did much better when tackling hurdles at Bellewstown so it's a surprise to see him here. Deise Diamond looked as though this sort of trip would suit when he stayed on over the minimum at Kilbeggan while Dorans River looked in need of the experience on his debut on the same track. PLAYBOOK made his racecourse debut over hurdles at Listowel in September and was only just beaten into third in a tight finish. He'll no doubt do better when sent back over obstacles but Derek O'Connor's presence suggests he'll be ready for this and he gets the vote.
