In depth

Verdict

Trouble Mountain, Latif and Zonic Boom look to be the principals in this handicap and the narrow vote is given to Zonic Boom. The selection goes well for tonight's pilot David Nolan who takes a handy 3lbs off his back. He hinted at a return to form last time when a close third behind Son Of Thunder and with the slight step-up in trip unlikely to inconvenience him he should go close. Trouble Mountain certainly has the ability to win this but he is far from reliable and at the likely odds we are happy to oppose him. Latif ran well over this course and distance last time when a good third behind Instructor. That was his first effort over this trip and he is certainly worth noting in the market for any signs of confidence. Nuit Sombre is the other with place prospects and he is capable of a big run at a price if he is in the mood. However, in a race that won't take much winning the vote is given to Zonic Boom.
