    Verdict

Ocean Tempest has an obvious opportunity at the conditions of this event, but this will require a serious training performance for John Ryan to have him primed after an absence, so we will side with HAWKESBURY (NAP). Charlie Appleby's gelding was progressive last season, and though he was beaten on his latest start at Ascot, he was attempting to give weight all around. Clive Brittain's runners are invariably underestimated and as a noted seven-furlong specialist, Brazos has to be respected. David O'Meara won this race a couple of years ago with a veteran performer and Penitent attempts to roll back the years. The handler also sends out Russian Realm and the gelding has obvious place claims if the ground dries out. Intense Style makes a debut for Les Eyre having left Jim Bolger whilst Morache Music would make more appeal on a softer surface and he is best watched at present.
