Verdict

Tarkesar is taken to land today's prize with Sandy Mac and Domenico feared. The booking of AP McCoy for Paul Blockley appears significant and having put up a bold show over course-and-distance last time out, we expect him to go one better tonight. Sandy Mac should have no problems on the prevailing going. He won well over course-and-distance and has obliged on a similar surface in the past. Domenico is not particularly consistent but this is a modest contest. Pharanto is an interesting participant given that Nicky Henderson has largely sought to campaign on a softer surface. Fast Fred hasn't shown a lot thus far but he does have bits and pieces of fair form on a sound surface during his Irish campaign. Wild Tonto won at Taunton in April but has questions to answer on drying ground. Charlottes Web has been backed on her last two outings so it will be interesting to see whether her beleagured backers will be chasing their losses tonight. Former Mark Johnston inmate, Think Lucky looks to have a lot of weight on handicap debut for a horse that has fallen and been beaten by 100 lengths on his last two outings. There is quite a lot of deadwood here in spite of numbers and Tarkesar seems to put plenty of ticks in the right boxes.
