Verdict

Last-time winners Latin Scholar, Kingsdale Orion and particularly ACTION IMPACT will all have their supporters in the opener, and we will take the last-named to score. Action Impact enjoyed a comfortable success over course and distance last week and shoulders a 7lbs penalty as a result. That was the first time that Gary Moore's charge has won beyond 10 furlongs and he will need a career best to follow-up, but the manner of his success that day suggests that he can find it. Latin Scholar just got home in a tight finish at Chepstow last time out and Alan King will hope that he can cope with a rise of 2lbs and also this longer trip, which looked beyond him when previously tried. Kingsdale Orion is 3lbs higher than when justifying favouritism on soft ground at Newcastle in June. He didn't have the run of things when tried only once previously on the Polytrack but now he is lower in the weights he is worth another try. Dichoh is back on a handy mark and looks likely to get competitive, while Gross Prophet is another who is on a mark from which he has won at this track, so if his stamina holds out he should be bang there. Action Impact is taken to score.
