Verdict

CHIEF EXEC can take control here, while Global Village may give most the most to do. The Jeremy Gask-trained selection carries a 6lbs penalty courtesy of a two length defeat of Commando Scott over this trip at Wolverhampton last time. He has gone well at this track in the past from a similar mark, and with the yard in a really good vein of form at present we will take him to find enough to win again. Global Village beat Duke Of Milan over course and distance last time and escapes a penalty as that was an apprentices' race. He holds his form well enough and may be capable of improvement after just a few runs, so in receipt of 11lbs from the selection he is much respected. Sea Land steps back up in trip after winning at Wolverhampton over 6f earlier in the month, and he has won over this distance before. A 6lb penalty won't help, and there is always the possibility of the bounce factor given that the recent win came after a lengthy lay-off, but he is not written off by any means. Mocha Java and Sun Catcher met at Wolverhampton last month when the former emerged on top, and the latter is now 2lbs better off for a nose defeat, so may be able to turn the tables. Lethal is in form but finding one too good and the same result looks likely here and Chief Exec is preferred.
