Verdict

Brendan Powell's Slick Mover won well enough over course and distance earlier this month and he has to be respected off a 6lb higher mark but marginal preference in a competitive contest is for SUPERNOVERRE, who gets the nod over Under Fire. Tony Carroll's gelding ran much better here last month when chasing home Winning Show and he has solid claims off just a 2lb higher mark. Croix Rouge ran his best race since coming back from Spain when a close fourth here behind Franco Is My Name but he needs to improve further on that effort to trouble the judge. Richard Guest's Russian Invader has been going well on the Fibresand of late but disappointed on his only previous start on the Polytrack so he looks best watched, while Naheell has yet to prove that he stays this far. The vote then goes the way of Paul Howling's Supernoverre, who has been running consistently well recently and he looks worth backing to gain what would be a deserved success.
