Verdict

The handicapper just looks to have the measure of Illustrious Prince, who might not represent much in the way of value here and preference is for DEFECTOR. New licence holder David Bourton has made a promising start to training at Wolverhampton, which is where the former William Muir-trained Defector gave him his first success earlier in the month. He was a little unlucky-in-running when trying to defy a penalty there last time and still looks to be on a hugely competitive mark. Vintage has a course and distance win to his name and is up 3lbs for a Lingfield success, entitling him to go close. Lower down the weights, Lord Of The Reins looks well in on his best form and if he can revert to that he would have sizeable claims. Bath maiden winner Yes We Can will need improvement to follow up.
