Verdict

LOVE IN THE SUN made a successful handicap debut over an extended mile on heavy going at Cork and went down fighting when attempting to concede 9lb to Ineffable over 1m2f at Leopardstown. She is still progressing and should get back to winning ways. Niven has had a quiet summer since completing a heavy-ground double in April and should do better than at Sligo last time where he didn't get the run of the race. Neither Camile nor Afzal have been in the best of form and have headgear fitted for the first time while Universal Focus has been looking moderate. Kandahari ran poorly at the Curragh last time but her earlier form on ground with some give puts her in the picture and she may offer the greatest threat.
